Fitness buffs are on the lookout for new fitness trends to make their workout exciting, lower gym expenses, or keep exercises indoors while shaping their body.
People who want to stay fit are always looking for something new to try. This is especially true when regular exercises are becoming less interesting and slow. "If you don't change what you do, your body doesn't have to adapt and you don't get better," says Neal Pire, a personal trainer in Allendale, N.J., and a spokesperson for the American College of Sports Medicine, in an article "Why Isn't my Workout Working" Health and Fitness, MSNBC.com, May 4, 2006. New exercises mixed with workout routine can give best possible results. What are the latest, hottest workout trends for those who want to try something new to stay fit? Hula hooping also enhances dexterity, and improves flexibility and coordination. 30 to 60 minutes of hip-swiveling session builds strength in the abdomen, buttocks, and legs. Hoopilates Hoopilates is a Pilates-based hoop exercise program created by Jen Bleier, a certified Pilates instructor based in New York, according to the article "Hoopilates" published in the New York Daily News last August 11. Fun and Friendly FitnessZumba Latin Dance Zumba means fun with fast, sensual, and bold movements. Zumba, created by Miami-based dance choreographer Beto Perez, is a Latin inspired dance exercise that dances to the rhythms of cumbia, cha-cha, meringue, reggae, and salsa to tone the tummy, thighs, and buttocks. The workout routine is a blend of fast and slow moves starting with the hips shaking gaily then swivels, and pivots to the beat of salsa, meringue, or flamenco. Published in Webmd.com on August 22, exercise physiologist Nicole Gunning said, "The benefits of dancing Zumba are increased aerobic threshold and stamina, improved bone density and balance, lesser body fats, and lower blood pressure." The Latin beat make participants shake from the shoulders down and across the floor, keeping the heart rate elevated, and the body burning 700 calories in one session. So, ditch the workout and join the party, Zumba to a new body! Pole Dance to Fitness Pole dancing fitness is different from the exotic pole dancing meant for gentlemen club environment. Pole Dance as an exercise is a new way to body and mind fitness. The pole dancer hangs on to a pole using inner thigh muscles and upper arms then spins around it. In a dance routine around a pole, the user combines stationary poses, spins, and climbs. These moves help tone the abs, arms, biceps, upper back, and core. Pole dancing moves are similar to techniques found in gymnastics, ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Pole Dancing is a wonderful workout as it uses almost all the body muscles while lifting the body up on the pole. The fitness industry of today offers people varied option . . . to do fitness exercises at home, around the block, in the gym, with men or women, and young or old. The new trend of fitness exercises has taken workouts to a new level. Fitness programs are promoting the use of nature as workout settings while some have mind exercises tuck into the routines to make workouts more holistic. Other fitness workouts are more fun and exciting, made to enhance the capacities of the body and mind.
