Trainer's Edge shines the spotlight on fitness expert Liz Gillies in an explosive toning workout. The Trainer's Edge: With Liz Gillies Body Lift features a full body strength training routine without the use of weights. This 45 minute workout is designed to sculpt a longer leaner body. Attain a natural body lift by working out with Liz several days per week.

Body Lift incorporates repeated isometric holds and tempo pulsations to motivating music. The workout focuses on arms, abs, legs, thighs, and hips for a well-rounded routine. A thorough warm-up that is 15 minutes in length begins the workout. There is very little cuing in this DVD. Gillies jumps right into the routine and quickly transitions into the next segment. The entire workout flows like an elegant dance. All of the movements are precise and fluid. During the intense warm-up there is a great arm routine that really works all of the muscles in your arm.

Exercise Routines Inspired Through Dance

In Trainer's Edge: With Liz Gillies Body Lift workout the quick pace of streamlined routines compliment each other like modern ballet dance. After the somewhat aerobic-like warm-up Liz Gillies starts a challenging 7 minute floor work routine. The interchangeable planks resemble pilates moves from her previous Progressive Pilates series.

To work the hips there is a special Pelvic Lift segment. Hip thrusts, bridges, and an assortment of leg variations. Users are instructed to perform leg lifts in a variety of ways. Several of the moves require one leg thrusts and focus on shaping the glutes. The workout is challenging with long reaches and rotations working every muscle in the body.

The abdominal and stretch segment ends the workout. Liz Gilles refers to this section as the Uncrunch Series. Most of the moves are fundamentally pilates based.
